Far from what one would call a typical sin'dorei woman, Val happened to be so much closer in appearance to an average orc than an elf in most people's eyes, even if her overall size and long pointy earlobes spoke otherwise. In other words, her body was very well built up, bulky and muscular in ways that made it very clear she trained a lot to have attained such a physique. What further emphasized her somewhat brutish appearance were numerous scars that riddled her form, both old and new marks marred her deeply tan appearance.
Despite this, her face was drawn out in fairly pleasant lines that befitted her lineage, albeit somewhat angular in certain places such as her brows and jawline. Being freckled over her nose and cheeks gave her a slightly youthful look that contrasted her typically serious but warm expression, one which was enhanced by those intensely golden eyes. There was a notable lack of any kind of makeup that some of her fairer compatriots tended to bear. Her hair was kept short as to ensure it wouldn't get in the way of her work, that is combat.
Val's walk and movements happened to be a tad heavy and very far from refined, however, the same could not be said for the way she handled her weapons and equipment. During combat her moves connected well and carried an in ways rhythmical grace to them which showed her to be quite adept and able in such situations."

Her body was exceptionally muscular and thick, carrying a rather broad and brutish build unlike what one would expect from an elven woman. | Val's movements lacked the usual elven grace and finesse. Instead they were heavy and unrefined. | If there was any scent that could be associated with this particular elf, that would be a faint smoky herbal smell. Other than that she tended to be clean and fresh. | Typically well friendly though a bit loud in both voice and mannerisms. She leaned towards appearing serious but pleasantly warm in most encounters. | Though not a tauren, Val favoured symbols and marks typically associated with their culture, most notably and perhaps unsurprisingly those that referred to An'she. Her appearance was as such enhanced by shu'halo necklaces, beads and other adornments. |
Ever the black sheep of her well-off courtier family, Valathea was a troublemaker from the very start as far as her parents were concerned. Hanging out in the dark alleyways of Silvermoon where none from the court would dare set foot in. This is where most of her friends were, though, and she was happy to share in their 'lowlife' lifestyle. To say her family despised her for this would be an understatement. She was one they didn't speak of, the filthy child that was all but ignored, hidden away from public eye as publicly acknowledging her was unthinkable. It was rough, not quite belonging in either life. At some point, undoubtedly after a heated argument that went too far, she broke away from the Sinekesh family and turned to her real sisters and brothers. It will turn out this could've very well been what saved her life for what happened next was the Sacking of Quel'thalas.
It was a tough time for all of her people, but they endured and so did she. Her former family was not so lucky and as such she remained the last of their line, to her knowledge at least. Surviving is what she did best, however. Somewhere down the line, the young woman joined the Blood Knights and was slowly exposed to the magics she was not previously privvy to. Except there was a dirty secret behind the veil, one she learned of in time. Thoroughly disgusted by this newfound knowledge, she abandoned the order as a result.
As a stroke of luck, this was just about the time the sin'dorei were accepted into the Horde and Valathea jumped on the opportunity to pack up and fuck off to Kalimdor. She didn't really know what she should expect but it certainly wasn't as much animosity as she in fact got. This animosity was something that cemented her hate in her own people, their name was practically synonymous with all the things she hated, being called one of them stung deep. Fortunately, she was strong and determined enough to endure and carve her way into that culture by force if she had to.
Part of that was physical training. The way she saw it, the best way to get a foot in was to be able to match her new peers in physical prowess, that meant bulking up like an orc would. Sure she had the strength and toughness, but her lean build was not going to cut it, not against the core these people had. Of course, not all of it was prompted by her desire to fit in, some just happened naturally as a product of being a part of a new culture with different values.
While she was perfectly content matching up and proving herself to her orcish friends, there was a certain bit of calmness and pleasant lack of expectation from the tauren that slowly drew her towards these people. As fate would have it, the tauren people were on a bit of rediscovery of their own and as the Order of the Sunwalkers was established, Valathea found her interest in the Light rekindled. It was similar to the magic she knew, but pure, that drew her to train with them.
From there on, Valathea was a true warrior of the Horde, one who stood next to all the others. One that filed in the ranks with her Kalimdorian brethren rather than the often exclusive ranks of the Sin'dorei. Her allegiance was no secret.
It was not until the rise of Hellscream and his Kor'kron that this was shaken. Following from there, she fought in the revolution alongside Baine and Vol'jin, helping reestablish order. As a product of this shakeup, Valathea kept her distance from the Horde in the following years, instead turning towards less politically involved groups. Making ties to brigands and their associated contractors was once again something she was used to, a throwback to her early life.
On occasion, she had minor involvement with the Silver Hand as a fellow wielder of the Light, but most of her associations were brief and to the point, as she preferred to keep distance. Instead, she remained as somewhat solitary adventurer and sellsword, making her way around the world on her own terms.
